Type Locality and Naming
Along the Kaindy River, a right tributary of the Akbura River, Alay Range. V.I. Kotel'nikov, G.S. Porshnyakov, A.V. Yagovkin in 1959 (176, p.14). Stratotype - right bank of the Kaindy River, about 8 km upstream from the mouth.
Synonym: Kaindinian suite, Kaindinskaya Suite, Каиндинская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Lower part - clayey slates, siltstone (aleurolites), and sandstones with interlayers of limestones, often clastic, less frequently gravelites and conglomerates. Upper part - polymictic sandstones with interlayers and packages of clayey-silty slates, gravelites, small-pebble conglomerates, limestones, cherts, and tuffs of basic composition. Thickness from 100-300 to 600 m
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Lies transgressively on the Kan Fm
Upper contact
It is unconformably overlain by Lower Carboniferous limestones or terrigenous deposits of the Upper Paleozoic.
Regional extent
Karachatyr Mountains. Along V.V. Mikhailov's data (460), the stratigraphic volume of the suite varies in different regions.

Fossils
In the Karachatyr Mountains, the lower part of the suite contains Upper Silurian corals - Spongophylloides aff. pertecta Dub., Dividyctyon aff. uniformis Soc., and above - Lower Devonian - Plasmophyllum ex gr. salairica Peetz., Microplasma ex gr. impunctum (Lonsd.), Microphyllum aff. ligeriensis (Bevirois).
